| Evelyn passed away on June 27, 2001. She was born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania on November 18, 1918. Evelyn was loved by family and friends and will be missed greatly by all. Evelyn majored in English at Hillsdale College. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. After college she worked for Miami Daily News. She married Richard Houlahan in 1946 and moved to Seattle. She has resided in Bellevue since 1954. Evelyn was an active member of the Vuecrest Garden Club and Overlake Service League. She also belonged to several bridge clubs. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Houlahan; her parents, Evelyn and John Meighan; sister, Martha Penrod and brother, John Meighan. Survivors include: son, Gary Houlahan; his wife, Parul and daughter, Sheila; daughter, Laurie Anderegg, her husband, Jim and their children, Kendall and Jimmy. Funeral Service, 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE. Donations to the Overlake Service League, Hospice of Seattle or Northwest Kidney Center Foundation. |
