Cynthia L. (Smith) Hughes

After a short year, battling cancer, Cynthia passed
away at the home of her parents on October, 21, 2007.
Her husband and parents were with her.
She lived a full and rich life enjoying deep
connections with her family and friends. She had an
incredible enthusiasm for fun and adventure. Her
passions in life were gardening, camping, cooking, and
karaoke with her husband. Family was most important to
her.
She was born in Tucson, Arizona on June 12, 1951, the
oldest of six children. She was like a mother to them.
She lived in California, Florida, and grew up in
Bothell, Washington where she graduated in 1969. She
was affiliated with the International Order of Rainbow
and loved choir singing. She worked for Fred Myers and
the Boeing Company.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David C.
Hughes; son, Aaron D. Barton; her parents, Jack and
Bettie Smith of Bothell; sister, Nancy (Tom) Brown;
brothers, Mark (Roberta), Jack (Charlene), Charlie
(Kristin), Gale (Annie) Smith; nieces, Stacy (Mike)
Frazier, Jennifer Berry, Courtny and Robin Smith;
nephews, Charles (Annie) Smith, Michael, Ryan and
Dallas Smith, Kevin Berry; grand-nephews, Brandon and
Andrew Frazier.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on
Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Tazer Valley Farm, 7314
300 St. NW, Stanwood, WA 98292.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in her
name to the Seattle Cancer Society or your local
Hospice Organization,
