| Mary Ann Goranson Mary Ann Goranson was born September 14, 1922 in St. Louis, MO. Mary passed away at her Lakewood home on July 31, 1998 after a courageous battle with cancer. She graduated from Columbia School of Nursing in Milwaukee, WI. She joined The Army Nurse Corp. in March 1945, serving in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Her many assignments included Puerto Rico, Fitzsimmons, Madigan, and Germany. The majority of her nursing career was as a Nurse Anesthetist. She retired from A.N.C. as LT. COL. on Jan. 30, 1972. She was an active member of T.R.O.A. She had lived in the Tacoma- Lakewood area since 1972. Her love for golf was very evident as she was a member of the Fort Lewis Golf Course, Fort Steilacoom Women's Golf Group, Tacoma Women's Golf Assn. She also was active in the Pacific Northwest Golf Assn., acting as a Delegate. She is survived by her beloved friend and companion, Janet Lockwood; six first cousins and many dear friends.
