Harold W. Gloyde

Harold W. Gloyde, 91, born in Frankford, MO, May 12, 1904, passed away Feb.
20, 1996 at Franke Tobey Jones Home. Having moved west with his family to
Montana and then Washington, Gloyde graduated from Lincoln High School in
1921. He later attended the University of Washington where he was a member of
Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. A longtime resident of Lakewood, he had been in
the mortgage banking business for over 45 years, retiring from United Mutual
Savings Bank after 13 years as President in June 1969, and from the Board of
Directors in 1976. Gloyde, a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve,
served on active duty for 3 years during World War II. He served the Lakewood
Water District Commission and the Friends of the Lakes District Library. He was
a member of the Tacoma Elks Lodge No. 174 for 68 years. He was predeceased by
his loving wife, Thelma and is survived by his daughter, Susan McCaskie,
Lakewood; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; nephew, Robin Erixon,
Burien; niece, Ellen Buskirk, Bellevue. At his request no services will be held.
Memorials may be made in his name to Franke Tobey Jones Health Care Center
for their loving care and devotion. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral
