| A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in Laurelhurst Presbyterian Church for Grace Sherman Fullerton, who died Sept. 6 at age 92. Mrs. Fullerton was born Aug. 6, 1908, in Butler, Pa. Her maiden name was Sherman. She attended Chatham College in Pittsburgh, and as a young woman was a society editor of the Butler (Pa.) Eagle newspaper. During World War II, she was editor of the Pullman Standard Newsletter in Butler. She moved to Portland in 1945 and was a secretary for several Portland schools before moving to Salem in 1961. The mother of shuttle astronaut Gordon Fullerton, she gave classroom presentations in Salem schools about NASA shuttle flights. She returned to Portland seven years ago. She was a member of Laurelhurst Presbyterian Church in Portland and Westminster Presbyterian Church in Salem. In 1935, she married Charles Fullerton. |
| Survivors include her husband; son, Gordon; daughters, Jeanne Schulz and Ann; brother, Casper Sherman; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. |
| Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to the community mission fund of Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3737 Liberty Road S., Salem OR 97302. Arrangements are by Mt. Scott Funeral Home. |
