Samuel Frisella
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, in St.
Therese Catholic Church for Samuel Frisella, who died Jan. 25 at age 78.
A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, in the church. Mr. Frisella was
born Jan. 1, 1923, in St. Louis. During World War II, he served in the U.S.
Navy in the Pacific and was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross. He
moved to Portland in 1959, and was general manager of Melridge Aviation
for 18 years before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the church. In
1945, he married Norma Hagan.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Denise and Barbara; sons, Gregory
and Christopher; sister, June Gagnepaine; brothers, Joe, Frank, Pete,
Angelo and Jim; and four grandchildren. His son, Mark, died in infancy.
Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests
remembrances to the children's program at Pearson Air Museum, 1115 E.
5th St. Vancouver, WA 98661. Arrangements are by Gateway Little
Chapel of the Chimes.
