| Marion I. Eacret Marion I. Eacret died Feb. 11, 2008, at age 91. Marion I. Eacret was born March 25, 1916, in Seligman, Mo. During World War II, he served in the Army. He moved to Scappoose in 1951, then to La Cygne, Kan., in 1973, and returned to Scappoose about 1993. He was a maintenance worker for Esco and a deputy sheriff for Columbia County. He also was a deputy sheriff for Linn County in Kansas. In the late 1930s, he married Wanda Hickerson; they divorced. In 1943, he married Betty Wheeler; they divorced. In 1958, he married Evelyn Clark; she died in 1994. Survivors include his daughters, Treva Smith and Connie Abbe; sons, Darrel Eacret, Kirby Eacret and Robert Hickerson; stepdaughter, Kitty Bowers; stepson, Tom Dews; sister, Sylvia Hufford and Mae Smith; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. His stepson Mike Dews and stepdaughter Carolyn O'Connor died earlier. Service held. Remembrances to the Scappoose Veterans of Foreign Wars. Arrangements by Columbia in St. Helens.
