Juanita L. Mitchell Eckenrode, born Aug. 2, 1913 in Granby, MO, passed away April 11, 1996 in Tacoma, WA. She attended public school in Missouri, married Leon H. Eckenrode in 1932 and relocated to Tacoma in 1941. She worked as a retail sales clerk at Woolworth department store for over 15 years retiring in 1978. After retiring, Juanita stayed at home taking care of her nieces and nephews. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Leitheiser (Eugene); sons, Jerry (Arlene), Jack (Arlene), Don (Shannon), Jim (Jerry), Tom (Linda). She has 20 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Memorial services Mon., April 15, 1996, 11 a.m. in the Mt. View Garden Chapel with inurnment in Mt. View Memorial Park. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
