Stephanie Jo Ewell
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, in Sharon
Seventh-day Adventist Church for Stephanie Jo Ewell, who died Oct. 19,
apparently of a heart attack, at age 51. Ms. Ewell was born May 28, 1949,
in Lancaster, Pa., and was reared in Great Falls, Mont. She attended
Walla Walla College and Georgetown University. In Washington, D.C., she
was a volunteer usher for the Kennedy Center and a bookkeeper, bank
teller and junior high school tutor and teacher. In 1970 she moved to
Portland and was a precious-metals technician for Tektronix until the early
1980s. She was a volunteer teacher's aide for Portland Adventist Academy
in the early 1990s.
Survivors include her daughter, Sara Smith; sons, William L. Smith and
Brandon C. Smith; parents, Edwin and Jean Ewell; brothers, Derek M.,
Kent W. and Grant S. Ewell; and sisters, Traci K. White, Jamie B.
Emelike and Candace B. Ewell.
Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the
National Alliance of the Mentally Ill of Multnomah County. Arrangements
are by Caldwell's Colonial Chapel.
