Edward L. Emerson
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, in Mt. Scott
Funeral Home for Edward L. Emerson, who died Oct. 17 of congestive
heart failure at age 73. Mr. Emerson was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Maryville,
Mo., and was raised there and in Montgomery, Iowa, and Spirit Lake,
Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army. In 1953, he moved to Empire, now part
of Coos Bay, then lived in several areas of Oregon and California. In 1959,
he moved to Clackamas. He was a superintendent of Kuckenburg
Construction for about 10 years, a foreman for Rivergate Rock Products
and later a dump truck owner from 1985 until retiring in 1999. In 1948, he
married Nellie Gilfillian; she died in 1994. In 1997, he married Helen
Warburton.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Linda Tucker; son, Jess; sisters,
Betty Lou Thomas, June Berg, Helen Kelly and Delora Emerson; four
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests
remembrances to Clackamas County Hospice.
