| A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, in Irvington Covenant Church in Portland for Calvin Denson, who died Dec. 30, 2003, at age 79. Mr. Denson was born April 1, 1924, in Philadelphia. During World War II, he served in the Army in Germany and Japan, received a Bronze Star and continued in the Army for 22 years, including in the Korean War. He was a maintenance worker for the city of Pomona, Calif., and moved in 1987 to Portland. In 1962, he married Ruby Turner; she died in December. |
| Survivors include his stepsons, Excell Hunter, James Granderson and Phillip Granderson; stepdaughters, Felecia Cartagena and Ruby R. Haughton; and five grandchildren. |
