Gladys Danz Gladys Danz, 85, died peacefully on May 9, 2002 in Tacoma, surrounded by her family. She was born Gladys Lucile Rose on August 8, 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Tacoma in 1947, where she raised her family. During this time she was involved with St. Patrick's and Aquinas Mothers# Clubs, and Bellarmine Philomathea. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for 45 years, a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority; she loved playing bridge, knitting and handiwork of all kinds, and was always involved with her Church and charitable activities. Gladys is survived by her children, Sue and Tom Sheedy of LaCanada, CA; Patti and Steve Durst of Annapolis, MD; and Ed and Cathy Danz of Tacoma. She was the proud grandmother of 12: Ryan, Erin (Simon) Owen, Megan (Brad) Hubbs, Tara, Nora, Brennan and Trina Sheedy; Steve and David Durst; Lisa (Chris) Matsumoto, Karen and Craig Danz. The family suggests donations be made to St. Patrick#s School, The Food Connection at 1323 South Yakima, or Bellarmine Preparatory School. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 13, 2002 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Entombment at Calvary Cloisters. Viewing will be all day on Saturday and Sunday, May 11th and May 12th, at the 1002 South Yakima Avenue Chapel.
