| Wilfred "Fred" J. Casassa Fred, 81, of Everett, WA, passed away April 7, 2007, at a local hospital following heart surgery. His loving wife, Janet, was at his side. Fred was born January 16, 1926, in New Brighton, PA, to John Casassa and Anna Kathryn Casassa. He was raised in Beaver Falls, PA. He was an extremely patriotic and proud American. After graduating High School he entered the Navy and served in the Philippines during WWII. After the war he began his career with the telephone company, working for Pacific Bell in California. It was during this time that his dear daughter, Donna, was born. He moved to Washington State to work for West Coast Telephone which was later acquired by GTE. He was instrumental in starting Frontier Square Dancing club and was well known and loved for being a great caller. He enjoyed doing wood crafts and was an avid pool player who welcomed anyone who wanted to play. Fred met the love of his life, Janet Anderson, at a telephone company salmon bake in 1973. They married in 1977, had a joint retirement party in 1982 and have been traveling the country ever since. Fred loved RVing, hunting, fishing, crabbing... and all things outdoors. Fred and Janet have been active members of the Puget Puller Chapters of the Alpenlite Travel Club for the past seven years. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Janet; his devoted daughter, Donna Casassa (Ulch); grandson, Dax Ulch, Modesto, California; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Ulch. He leaves his brother, Kenneth Casassa (Rosalie), Lake Havasu City, AZ; sister, Kathryne Fisher, Beaver Falls, PA; and sister-in-law, Marie Casassa; numerous loving nephews and nieces; and equally loving great-nephews and nieces. Fred was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred Casassa; and his brother-in-law, William Fisher. A celebration of Fred's life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2007, at the Mobile Country Club in Everett. Internment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
