George Darby CARTER

1913 - 2006 George was born in Pasadena, CA to Lucie
and Edwin Carter. The family moved to Spokane, WA
where George attended school. He enlisted in the U.S.
Navy during World War II and served as a radioman in a
PT boat squadron with service in England, France and
the South Pacific. In 1947, George married Janet
Johnson. They lived in Moses Lake where he was the
Standard Oil Distributor for several years. In 1961,
they moved to Seattle and George went to work for
Boeing. Janet passed away in 1972. George married
Maxine (Sanders) Hickman in 1974 and retired from
Boeing in 1976. He enjoyed trap shooting, golf and
traveling. He and Maxine traveled the world
extensively visiting many countries and every state in
the U.S. George is survived by his wife, Maxine of
Lynnwood, stepdaughter, Claudia Young of Kingston, two
step grandchildren, Brett Young of Kirkland and
Catherine Villiers of Bothell, and 3 step great
grandchildren, Stephanie Villiers, Timothy Young and
Grace Young. At his request, there will be no service.
George will be buried in the Sanders burial compound
in Colfax, WA. Memorials may be sent to the Children's
Hospital or charity of your choice.
