CLAUGHTON, Calvin E., II

Passed away March 5, 2006 at age 81 in Portland,
Oregon. We miss him very much. Born in San Francisco,
CA on November 5, 1924 to Calvin E. and Margaret R.
Claughton. He grew up in Seattle, WA, attending area
grade schools and West Seattle High School. He married
Margaret Frankson in Walla Walla, Washington in 1947
and had two children, Margaret Diane (born November 4,
1952) and Calvin III (born May 10, 1955). In the late
1940s and early '50s, he worked as a theater manager
for Fox Theaters, Sterling Theaters,
Hamrick-Evergreen, and Mid-State Amusement
Corporation. In the 1950s,he worked in retail sales of
men's clothing at Pragers and Bernie Utz. In the
1960s, he worked for the Washington State Employment
Service before starting his career with the Internal
Revenue Service with whom he retired in 1985. While
with the IRS, he attended Gonzaga Law School from 1973
to 1976. After graduation, hebecame an attorney for
IRS until retirement. After retirement, he practiced
law for a private firm until 1992. He was a member of
Kent United Methodist Church, Walla Walla Elks and the
Washington State Bar Association. He is survived by
his wife, two children, two sisters, and numerous
family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at
11am on March 18, 2006, at Kent United Methodist
Church, 11010 SE 248th St., Kent, Washington. In lieu
