SMSgt John M. Carpenter

SMSgt John M. Carpenter was born in Warsaw, Missouri,
April 20, 1922. He passed away May 12, 2004 at St.
Joseph#s Hospital after a three month struggle to
survive complications from surgery. John served during
WWII and Korean War, retiring after 27 years of active
duty in the Air Force. He is survived by sister,
Imogene Minor and brother, Bill Carpenter (Marge).
John was married to Lorene Zeller for 54 years until
her death in 1996. From his marriage to Lorene, he is
survived by six children: John Carpenter (Judy),
Margaret Plumb (Donn), Mary Lee (Gary), Connie Guffey
(Mike), James Carpenter (Debbie), and David Carpenter;
13 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. After
Lorene#s death, John married Emma Jean Marchesini at
St. Ann#s Catholic Church in Tacoma, WA on April 5,
1997. They remained active in church enjoying life and
friends together. He was an active member volunteer at
American Lake Veteran#s Golf Course and a member of
the Tacoma Elks Lodge # 2388. John loved woodworking,
golf, and cards. Viewing will be held Monday, May 17th
and Tuesday, May 18th from 12:00pm # 7:30pm at
Mountain View Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited
at 10:30am Wednesday, May 19th with Mass of Christian
Burial to follow at 11:00am at St. Ann#s Catholic
Church. Military graveside service will be held
afterwards at Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of
flowers, contributions can be made to St. Ann#s
Catholic Church. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral
