Louise Caruzzi


1909 - 2005 Louise Caruzzi was born March 14, 1909 in
Tombstone, Arizona to Gaspar and Agnes (Doyle)
Receconi. She passed away in her home on December 29th
at the age of 96. After graduating from Aquinas
Academy she became Choir Director and organist for St.
Rita's Catholic Church, retiring in 1966 after 40
years of service. During this time she was a staff
member of KVI Radio in Tacoma, singing on her own
radio show. Her 2nd career was as a dental assistant,
working for Dr. Lyle F. Kelly in the Medical Arts
Building for many years. During this time she also
served as president and long time board member of the
Tacoma Dental Assistants Society. Her love of music
and her beautiful singing voice allowed her to be part
of two well known choirs, the Clef Dwellers and the
St. Cecilia Chorus. She was also a longtime member of
St. Ann's parish. She was preceded in death by her
sister Edith Roach of La Jolla, CA and three brothers,
Walter and Jerry Receconi of Tacoma, and Alfred
Receconi of Albequerque, NM. She is survived by her
husband of 63 years Victor F. Caruzzi, her son Richard
A. Caruzzi of Tacoma, and her daughter Rita M. (Roger)
Hoskins of Port Orchard. The family would especially
like to thank Carol and Kathy from Franciscan Hospice
and the staff from Arcadia Health Care who provided
such wonderful care. Louise's nephew, Father Edward
Receconi of St. Martin's Academy will preside the the
Funeral Mass to be held at St. Ann's Church, 7001 S
Park Ave., 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 2nd. Louise was
a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. All who knew her
kind spirit and loving soul will miss her.
