Elsie Carmichael Elsie Carmichael, 87, was born November 16, 1915 in Pittsburgh, PA to Peter and Elizabeth Ackerman, and passed away June 2, 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Daniel Carmichael, sister Emily Pickley, brother Henry Ackerman and brother Arthur Ackerman. She is survived by her beloved daughter Arlene Eddy, son-in-law Alvin Eddy and his family, daughter Sharron Magden and her husband David, daughter Lori Barnett and her hus- band Curtis, and grandchildren Amanda and Jessica. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Winona Ackerman; nieces Marlene Bevan of San Clemente, CA, Alice Uddin of Crofton, MD, Molly Baumert of Pappillion, NE; nephews Mike Pickley of Bainbridge Island, WA and Don Ackermann of Long Beach, CA; and their families. Those who had the privilege of knowing her were blessed, as she always had a smile for everyone. She will be remembered for her thoughtfulness and generosity and for her kind and loving ways. She enjoyed family gatherings, Mariners baseball, but especially the Atlanta Braves. A special thank you to Dr. Keith Demirjian, Multicare Hospice of Tacoma, and the nurses on 6J at Tacoma General Hospital. Viewing will be held on Friday, June 6th from 5-7pm at the New Tacoma Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 7th at 11:00 am in the Chambers Creek Chapel, New Tacoma Cemetery.
