Ernest Calvin Comer Ernest Calvin Comer was born April 29, 1904 in Walker, Arizona. He lived in Pierce county for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Mable Schaper Comer, whom he was married to for 53 years. In 1983 he married Orel Sears from Puyallup, WA. He was the deputy assessor for Pierce County for 25 years. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as treasurer and other various positions. After retiring he volunteered at the Orting Soldiers Home over 600 hours. He is survived by: wife, Orel Comer of Puyallup, WA; sister, Lyla Smith of San Marcus, CA; nephew, Dale Shaw of Puyallup, WA; stepchildren, Lajetta Atwood of Burien, WA; Mildred Forbes of Spokane, WA and Belva Moses of Carol Stream, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 510 7th Ave. SE, Puyallup, WA 98372 or a charity of choice. Funeral services to be held at 2pm, Thursday, June 20 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Puyallup. Visitation to be held from 12 to 5 on Tuesday, June 18 and 12 to 8, Wednesday, June 19 at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup. Interment to follow at Wilkeson Cemetery.
