A gathering will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, in Memorial Park in Newberg for William L. Carte Jr., who died May 22 at age 53. Mr. Carte was born June 11, 1949, in Modesto, Calif., and moved to Newberg as a teenager. He volunteered for the Newberg Police Department Reserve and was a delivery truck driver.
Survivors include his son, William III; sister, Velma; brother, James; and one grandchild.
