Bevereley Jane (Cate) Chamness

Bev Chamness, 75, died on Jan- uary 13, 2002 in University Place.
She was born in Sacramento, CA to Florence and Horatio Cate and
graduated from Sacramento High School in 1944. After graduation Bev
worked for Cal Western Life. Since moving to University Place in
1958, Bev was an active volunteer in Lemons Beach Orthopedic Guild
and Beacon Senior Center. She and her husband Bob were longtime
members of the Wauna Dance Club and Fircrest Golf Club. Both Bev
and Bob loved to travel and they enjoyed relaxing in Hawaii and
traveling in Europe. Bev is preceded in death by her parents and sister
Maxine. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Bob, son
Michael Robert, daughter Susan Robin, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-
grandchildren; niece Diann Ogden of Wilton, CA; nephew Barry
Callister of Roseville, CA; and mother-in-law Ruth Folds of University
Place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday,
January 23rd at University Place Presbyterian Church. She fought a
courageous battle with a degenerative disease known as Progressive
Supranuclear Palsy. The family requests that memorial be made to the
