Rose Meri CHURCH

(or Rosie, as she was known by her friends) was born to John and Della Hamilton
the morning of August 24th, 1941 in Bismarck, Missouri. When she was between
one and two years old, she moved with her parents to Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Except for a short stay in Denver, her childhood and teen years were spent in
Rock Springs. After her graduation from High School in 1959, she went to work
for Van Gas as a bookkeeper. During the summer of 1960, she and Alone met at
the Rock Springs Assembly of God Church. Alone was eventually successful in
stealing her away from another guy, and they were married on March 11th, 1961.
After their marriage, they spent the next two and one half years in the Wyoming
towns of Rock Springs, Buffalo, and Kemmerer. It was during their stay in
Kemmerer that their son Craig was born. After Craig was born, Rosie and Alone
decided that following construction was probably not the best lifestyle for
raising children, so they moved to Horseshoe Bend Idaho, where Alone worked
as a millwright in a sawmill. It was during their stay in Horseshoe Bend, that their
daughter Tammy was born. In November of 1965, Alone went to work for a
company in Seattle. Rosie joined him in January of 1966. It was an exciting
adventure for two small town kids to be around all the hippies, water, large ships
and tall buildings. For the next 28 years, they resided in West Seattle. During the
early years. Rosie juggled the responsibilities of being a mother, bookkeeper, and
college student. She was an accomplished ventriloquist, song writer, artist, and
professional clown. For a time, she performed (along with 'Ernistine') on a local
TV program called 'Grandma's Rocking Chair', as well as making performances in
numerous churches, parties, youth camps, etc. In 1992, they planned to moved
back to Idaho. So, they sold their home in West Seattle, said good by to their
friends, and moved to Renton, while they continued to negotiate for a home in
Idaho. When the negotiations broke down, they moved to the Federal Way area.
Approximately 2 years ago, they moved to Puyallup where Rosie passed away in
their home a 10:45 a.m. on June 6th, 2000. Rosie leaves behind her mother Della
Hamilton of Puyallup, Washington; her brother Robert Hamilton of Cheyenne,
Wyoming; her sister Ruth Bird of Blue Bell, Utah; her husband Alone Church of
Puyallup; her son Craig Church of Seattle; and her daughter Tammy Chittum of
Puyallup. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren Jenifer Church, Kayla Church,
Alex Church, Austin Church, Joshua Chittum, Jesse Chittum, and Crystal
