Merle E. Cox
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001, in Mt. Scott Funeral Home for Merle E. Cox, who died May 24 at age 85. Mr. Cox was born Aug. 29, 1915, in Drexel, Mo. He moved in 1945 to Portland and was a mechanic for Hudson House and later worked for the Oregon Parks Division, retiring in 1977. In 1939, he married Maxine Dirstine; she died in 1983.
Survivors include his son, Norman; daughter; Kathleen Mae Gilliland; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
