K. Virginia (Werner) BOYD

Virginia Boyd was born July 22, 1913, in Pittsburg, PA and moved to
Seattle with her family at the age of 5. She was a resident of the Green
Lake area from that time on, attending Green Lake Elementary and John
Marshall Jr. High, graduating from Roosevelt High in 1931. She met Eugene
(Gene) Boyd at Green Lake Fieldhouse. They were married for 59 years,
until his death in 1991. She worked as a teacher's assistant in classes
for the deaf at Green Lake School until retirement in 1965. Virginia
died at the Hearthstone, a block from the family home, on Saturday,
February 5, 2005. She is survived by her sister Mary Jane Sund of Hoodsport;
six children: daughters Helen Jean (Royal) Nordby, and Marietta Gruner,
both of Edmonds; sons Tom (Donna) Boyd of Arlington; David (Joyce) of
New Market, MD; Michael (Barbara) of Portland; and Dan of Bothell. Also
survived by 18 grandchildren, 20 great -grandchildren, and numerous
nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Gene, and her
brothers Tom and Ross Werner. Services will be held at
Evergreen-Washelli at Noon on Thursday, February 10. Family suggests donations to
Children's Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
