| Flora E. BUCKLEY Beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away Sept. 20, 2002 after a long and valiant struggle with pneumonia and cancer at Aldercrest Health and Rehab Center of Edmonds, Wa. Here, she had many loving, caring nurses and caretakers. Flora was born in Neosha, Mo. Nov. 26, 1918 to Perly Woodward and Laura (Smith) among five beautiful sisters and four handsome brothers. They moved to Longmont, Colo. Here, Flora grew up, went to school, worked the sugar beet fields, and met and married Jesse Buckley. They had one son, Richard L. Buckley, who is married to Marlene (Hansen). Richard has been a very caring and attentive son to his mom all her life. Flora's husband, Jesse, preceded her in death in 1977 and one granddaughter, Barbara, age 20, in 1979. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Zelda and Virginia, both of Calif., and one brother, Russell of Colo. Flora is survived by her sisters Beulah Bell of La., Wanda and Angelo Ortisi of Fla., Pat and Charles Wilson of Colo., three brothers; Warren and Connie, Jim and Agnes, all of Colo., Denzel of Ariz. Flora also has a sister-in-law, Mildred Buckley, of So. San Francisco, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews. Flora leaves behind three wonderful, caring, loving grandchildren and eight beautiful, talented great-grandchildren. They are; Richard, his wife Ann, and daughters Shannon, and Kaitlyn, of Hayden, Id. Grandson David, his wife, Laura, sons Matthew, and Michael, daughters, Melissa and Megan, of Mountlake Terrace, Wa. Granddaughter Linda and her husband Garth Waltenbaugh, and daughter, Jessica of Roslyn, Wa. Flora has another great-grandchild, Nikolas, of No. Carolina. The great-grandchildren's "uncle Bob", Hoag was a big part of Flora's life during holidays, birthdays, and family get- togethers. While living in Seattle and Mountlake Terrace, Flora worked for Boeing. Upon retiring, she enjoyed her bountiful garden, which she shared with neighbors and friends. She was an avid newspaper reader; kept up on sports and current events. She took a real interest in her neighborhood and anyone she came in contact with. Flora leaves us with fond memories and will be greatly missed by her family, her neighbors, and her many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 22800 56th Ave. W. Mountlake Terrace, WA. 98043 on Friday, Sept. 27th, at 2 p.m. Pastor Angela Farrar, officiating. Remembrances may be made to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center/Society/Research.
