Barbara Shank Wold BABCOCK Died in Port Townsend on December 13, 2001. She was born on March 5, 1920 in Spokane, WA. to late state Senator Corwin Philip and Esther (Arnold) Shank. She married James A. Wold in 1942. In 1957 they moved from Bellevue, WA. to Darien, CT. The marriage ended in divorce in 1972. She then married Alfred "Bud" Babcock in 1980 in New Canaan, CT. They moved to Truro, Cape Cod, MA., in 1986 and then to Port Townsend in 1989.Barbara was a celebrated watercolor artist, showing and winning awards in numerous juried and invitational shows. She is survived by her husband, Bud Babcock, Port Townsend; daughters, Deborah Wold Green, Ridgewood, N.J., Stephanie Wold Maxwell, Mesa, AZ., Christine Wold, Truro, MA; brother David A. Shank, Issaquah, WA.; six grandchildren and four great-grand-children. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Corwin Philip Shank, Jr. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at the First Presbyterian Church in Port Townsend. A Reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Barbara's name to a charity of choice.
