William C. "Bill" Brown III

Passed away unexpectedly May 6, 1999 at his home in Puyallup,
Washington. Bill was born in San Jose, California, July 30, 1952. He
served four years in the US Air Force Military Canine Police. Bill was a
dedicated and much respected volunteer unit leader with the motorcycle
division (M.A.S.S.) of Pierce County Search and Rescue for many
years. He was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association,
Chapter G, where he served as Safety Rider Instructor. Bill is survived
by his loving wife, Marlene Harlow, Puyallup; daughter Sophie Brown,
Lakewood; son William Brown IV, Chico, CA; mother Mary Alice and
father William Brown, Jr., Saratoga, CA; three sisters, two brothers,
one stepson, two stepdaughters, two step-grandchildren, and hundreds
of friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 16 at his
church, Harbor Covenant Church in Gig Harbor, beginning at 3 PM.
Memorials may be sent to Special Olympics, the Diabetes Foundation,
or the Heart and Lung Associations. From all who knew him, "Teddy
