Samuel Alex Burket
Samuel Alex Burket died May 12, 2001, at age 73. Mr. Burket was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Altoona, Pa. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, and after the war in the U.S. Air Force. He moved to Portland in 1977 and was a brick mason for Pioneer Waterproofing for 12 years before retiring in 1990. In 1955, he married Anice L. Porter.
Survivors include his wife; son, Samuel; stepson, Raymond Elkins; stepdaughters, Sharon Booker and Betty Maxwell; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
No service. Disposition is by donation to Oregon Health Sciences University for medical research. Remembrances to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Smith Callaway Chapel in The Dalles.
