Glenn Keeler BICE, DDS Nov. 23, 1927 ~ Nov. 5, 2008 Born at Oceanside, CA to Clair and Mildred (LaPlant) Bice; died at his home in Issaquah, WA. Served in United States Navy in the Pacific during World War 2. Resuming his education interrupted by the war, he earned a degree in Civil Engineering from UCLA. Glenn continued his work as a consulting engineer while earning a doctorate in dental surgery from Baylor University in 1965. This second career led him to Washington State, where he performed oral surgery at Veterans Administration hospitals at Walla Walla and Seattle. Glenn treated his patients with care and skill. Here in Seattle he pursued his favorite activity, cruising the waters of Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska. Glenn read widely and had varied interests, among them astronomy, fine arts, music, gardening, and caring for animals, at one time making a home for some retired brickyard mules. Cats were his special friends throughout his life. With his wife Patricia, Glenn enjoyed travel to the more remote areas of the world, the Highlands and Hebrides of Scotland, Bering Sea and Kamchatka Peninsula, and Antarctica. Glenn is mourned by his wife of 18 years, Patricia, of Issaquah; and his first wife, May Bice, of Missouri City, TX. Also surviving are his sisters, Tudie McDaniel and Nancy Coleman, both of Tucson, AZ; and a brother, Gordon Bice, of Cottonwood, AZ. His parents, a sister and two brothers preceded him in death. Glenn's beloved cats Emilie and Furbie miss him.
