David BABBITT David Babbitt passed away peacefully at his home in Des Moines Saturday, November 15th after a courageous battle against cancer. David was born in Tacoma and started and finished his informal education in Fife. He graduated from the University of Illinois and worked for many years at Motorola as an engineering manager. He married Sandra in 1970. Their son John was born in 1989 and was the highlight of Dave's life. He was devoted to his family and friends, his work and the people he worked with. He loved life, laughing, telling stories, soccer, traveling, and Maui. Dave had a great sense of humor and high ethical standards and believed in treating everyone fairly. He will be missed by many, especially by his wife Sandy and his son John, his brothers Lanny (Joyce) and Brian (Pam), his sister-in-law Judy (Tom), brothers-in-law Brad and Terry (Sherry), six nieces, two nephews and ten godchildren. Friday, November 21st there will be a rosary service at 5:30 p.m., sharing of memories at 6:00 p.m., followed by a viewing. Saturday, November 22nd a funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. (viewing at 8:00 a.m.). Both will be at Saint Philomena Parish; 1790 South 222nd in Des Moines.
