Beatrice Gwendolyn "Gwen" BRYENTON (Hosking)

Age 86. Gwen died at home on October 20, 2007 from
congestive heart failure. Born April 15, 1921 in
Oakland, CA. Gwen moved to Seattle in 1926. She
attended Beacon Hill Grade School & graduated from
Franklin High School in 1939. She worked in the school
library, was a Tolo Ad Mgr and marched in the Rainbow
Girls Drill Team. She went to Wilsons Modern Business
College & was head secretary at Franklin High School
from 1942-1946. Married Jack Bryenton on June 29,
1946. She was a homemaker, PTA room mother, Sunday
school teach er & Girl Scout leader. She loved to trav
el & collected 300+ souvenir spoons. She enjoyed
children, music, dancing, & nickel poker machines.
Poor health slowed her down, but she always surprised
her doctors by doing better than they expected. She
went on Swedish Hospice in April 2007. Thanks to
caregiv ers, Celestine Prince & Darlene Kelly whose
care for her since Jan. 2004 let Gwen stay at home
with her daughter. Survived by daughter, Ellen
Bryenton, nephew, Ken Evans, & cousins in CA. Preceded
in death by her husband, parents, Richard & Beatrice
Hosking, brother, Richard Hosking & 3 aunts.
