BINCKLEY, Patricia 'Trish' D'Arcy

June 15, 1951-August 19, 2007
Patricia "Trish" D'Arcy Binckley passed away
peacefully on Aug. 19, 2007, in Portland after a long
courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She leaves family and friends with lasting memories of
her infectious enthusiasm, smile, many talents, quick
wit and joyful laughter; her unwavering support and
cooperativeness, kindness, compassion, and many other
great qualities - that's Trish. Her sense of humor and
directness were heartwarming and her style was
perfection. She had great artistic sensitivities and a
genuine appreciation for all things lovely.
Trish was born on June 15, 1951, in Santa Monica,
Calif., to Milton and Marybeth Binckley. After
graduating from Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton,
Calif., she moved to Portland to attend college. Trish
graduated from Willamette University and Marylhurst
College with a degree in art and architecture.
Subsequently, she also attended the Oregon School of
Design for three years, furthering her study of
architecture.
Trish began her career at Parker Furniture, working as
an interior designer, and went on to join Howard
Hermanson Interiors. Later she established her own
design company, D'Arcy Ltd.
Trish and E. Peter Teel, a noted graphic designer and
graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York, met
while working at Howard Hermanson's and later married.
Peter and Trish's interests blended perfectly.
Trish was a cherished wife, sister, cousin, friend and
dog lover; a willing community volunteer, world
traveler, fluent in French, avid reader, gourmet cook
and gardener extraordinaire.
Survivors include her husband, Peter Teel; his
daughers, Sabrina Teel and Brette Hampton; four
grandsons; brother, Peter Binckley; nephew, Scott
Meade and his family; nice, Jenny Flakus and Paul and
Della Moroney of Ireland.
Remembrances can be sent to Legacy Hopewell House
Hospice, P.O. Box 4484, Portland, OR 97208-4484.
