Louis M. Byrd, 72, of Hermiston, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Good
Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Burns
Mortuary of Hermiston.
Mr. Byrd was born Feb. 13, 1928, at Birch Tree, Mo. He had been a
resident of the Hermiston area for the past 50 years and had been
employed at Marlette Homes and by Union Pacific Railroad.
He enjoyed gardening, was a ham radio operator, enjoyed working on
small engines, building windmills and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Marie of Hermiston; sons, Melvin of
Hammond, Ore., Lee of Stanfield, and Stanley of Paterson, Wash.;
daughters, Julia Widmar and Pearl Cason, both of Hermiston, Toni
Emerson of Irrigon, and Sunday Dyer of Heppner; sisters, Lovine
Terrabochia of Astoria, and Blanche Campbell of Lake Oswego; 18
grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by a son, George, and a brother, John.
Memorial contributions may be made to a fund for Marie Byrd.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
