Clara Etta (Hester) BRUNDAGE

Clara Etta (Hester) Brundage, 98, beloved mother of Dorothy Johnston
and Betty Stewart, died Saturday, November 25 in Seattle of con
gestive heart failure. Clara was born in Exeter, CA. where she grew
up and married her high school sweetheart, Thomas S. Brundage, De
cember 2, 1922, who preceded her in death in 1983. Tom and Clara
retired to Panorama City in Lacey, WA. where Clara resided for thirty
years. She was a devoted member of the Metho dist Church in Olympia
for those 30 years. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern
Star and served as Worthy Matron in 1932-33. She was artistically
talented and spent a great deal of time with various crafts, owning
and running a craft shop in Garden Grove, CA. Dur ing World War Two
she worked for Boeing pro ducing parts for the war planes. She
recently moved to Seattle to be near her family, residing at Fleming
West group home. Clara is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy and
husband Ted of Seattle, Betty and husband Roger of Tacoma; seven
grandchildren, Sharon Armstrong of Seattle, Jay Johnston of Kodiak,
AK., Becky Horrigan of Seattle, Deborah Daley of Issaquah, Stephen
Johnston of Bellevue, Thomas Stewart of Olympia, and Rodney Stew art
of Agoura, CA.; and eight great grandchil dren. Clara will be greatly
missed by members of her family and all those who knew her. She was a
loving inspiration and guiding light. Memorial Services will be held
2 p.m. Saturday, December 2 at the Queen Anne Baptist Church where
Clara's grandnephew, Reverend David Clark will conduct the services.
Private intern ment will be at the Masonic Memorial Park in Tumwater,
WA. Remembrances may be made to The Panorama Benevolent Fund, 1751
