James David Bailey
James David Bailey died Jan. 4, 2001, of cancer at age 56. A private service was held. Mr. Bailey was born March 20, 1944, in Cane County, Penn. He moved to Portland as a child and attended Roosevelt High School. He worked in landscape maintenance, was a maintenance worker for the Portland Water Bureau, and then was a roofer for the Portland Parks Bureau until illness forced his retirement in about 1990. He was a member of the Salvation Army. In 1968, he married Betty Burns.
Survivors include his wife; sons, James and Jeffrie; daughter, Tammy Reimann; sisters, Judy, Patty, Donna Manley, Betty Carroll, Virginia Strand, Diana Thibault and Joyce Wheeler; brothers, Daniel L. and Samuel; and five grandchildren.
Disposition is by cremation. The family suggests remembrances to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Omega Funeral & Cremation Service.
