ANGLAND, Lynne Marueen
1949-2008
Lynne Maureen Angland, loving mother and businesswoman residing in Powell Butte,
died suddenly last Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, in an automobile accident at the age of 59.
She was a prominent CPA in Prineville, with a long history of service and commitment to
the citizens of Crook County and Prineville.
Born Aug. 16, 1949, in San Rafael, Calif., Lynne was raised in Mill Valley, Calif., with
her four siblings. She attended Mt. Tamalpais High School, and earned her Master of
Science degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. She raised her five children in
Fairfax, Calif., moving to Central Oregon in 1990.
Lynne was a woman of prodigious energy, compassion and talent who continually
sought ways to direct these qualities towards the benefit of her community and her
profession. Since moving to Central Oregon she has volunteered for numerous
professional and civic organizations, including the Oregon Society of Certified Public
Accountants, the Crook County Natural Resources Planning Committee, and the
Soroptimists International of Prineville Charitable Trust. Additionally, she was a
passionate advocate for children, promoting quality childcare in Crook County and the
State of Oregon. As vice-chair of the Oregon Commission for Child Care, she was
instrumental in passing legislation to help businesses provide childcare benefits for
employees. At the time of her death she was traveling to a meeting with this commission
in Salem.
Lynne had a deep appreciation for all things wild and the natural beauty of Central
Oregon. She spent much of her precious free time hiking with her children,
grandchildren and her beloved dogs where she was truly at home.
Lynne was a proud and doting grandmother. To her children, she was a role model and
a solid rock of unconditional support and love. She was a loving and beloved daughter
and sister. Her sparkling smile, ready laugh, vitality, and humanity will be remembered
by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives
she touched. To her friends and family, her death is a loss beyond the measure of
words. She was an irreplaceable treasure who will never be forgotten.
Lynne Angland is survived by her children, Mark (Laura), Jessica (James), Amanda
(Lane), Matthew (Shawn) and Yvonne (Daniel); as well as 10 grandchildren. She will
also be greatly missed by her parents, Maurice and Jean Angland; her siblings, Patricia,
Janet, Nancy and Robert and their families.
A memorial service will be held on at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at the Prineville
Senior Center, 180 N.E. Belknap Street, Prineville.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Humane Society of
the Ochocos in Lynne's name.
