Steven Richard Armony

Recitation of the rosary will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in St. Pius X Church, 
1260 N.W. Saltzman Road, for Steven Richard Armony, who died Oct. 6 in a motor 
vehicle accident at age 53. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Steven Richard Armony was 
born April 30, 1955, in Tucson, Ariz., and lived most of his life in the Portland area. He 
worked 29 years for Portland Public Schools before being laid off. He retired after three 
years with the Beaverton School District. He was well-known for his role in fighting for 
the rights of school custodians in negotiations with the Portland district. He married 
Vanessa Froescher in April 1988. 

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Lauren; parents, Richard and Margaret Armony; 
sisters, Dyanna Armony, Annette Armony and Marlene Baines; and brothers, Matthew, 
Patrick and Mark.
