Luella D. ALVENSLEBEN Loving wife of Gero for 63½ years. Devoted mother to Eric, Brian, Karen and Grandmother to Llodia and Bryta. Adoring mother-in-law to Teresa, wife of Eric and Ruth wife of Brian. Sis ter to Marjorie. Preceded in death by her broth ers, Ross and Jack Coulter. Luella, a long time resident of Seattle, WA. was born to Jack and Nettie Coulter in Manitoba Canada on Novem ber 28, 1913 and died in Seattle, WA. on October 11, 2000 following a heart attack. Luella attend ed the University of WA. from 1933 to 1937 where she worked at a job to support herself, majored in Home Economics and met and married her future husband Gero. They began their life to gether in Coulee City where her husband worked on Grand Coulee Dam until completion. They returned to Seattle in 1941 where her three children were born and raised. In 1950 they pur chased a home in Lake Forest Park where they lived for 50 years. Luella was a marvelous moth er and homemaker skilled in budgeting, cook ing, gardening, entertaining and bricklaying. She laid every brrick around the entire house salvaging old bricks from construction sites and even roads. Luella supervised and extensive re model of their home doing much of the work her self. She later became a well known antique doll collector who was especially skilled in designing costumes and repairing dolls. Luella joined various doll clubs where she made many friends throughout the years. She partici pated in shows and competitive events winning numerous blue ribbons and prizes over the years. Luella was an avid fan of the outdoors who enjoyed backpacking and camping with her family for many years. Luella was also a great lover of cats. Luella will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. At her request no fu neral services will be held.
