Margaret K. Allen
A service will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in First Congregational Church for Margaret K. Allen, who died Sept. 19 at age 94. Mrs. Allen was born March 26, 1906, in Joplin, Mo. Her maiden name was Krummel. A graduate of the University of Southern California, she taught school in Kansas, Colorado and Milwaukie, retiring in 1972 after 10 years at Milwaukie Grammar School. She was a member of the church. In 1932, she married the Rev. William Wayne Allen; he died in 1991.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret B. Colby; son, William W.; sister, Elizabeth Cusick; brother, Lauren Krummel; grandchildren she helped raise, Debra Kahrman, Dale Henningsen and Del Spunaugle; two other grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to her church. Arrangements are by Portland Funeral Alternatives.
