Wildman, Verna Rose

Verna Rose Wildman 91 of Boise, passed away of natural 
causes at a local care facility, August 4th, 2010 with family at 
her side. She was born December 5, 1918, at Mendon, UT to 
Willard R. Rose and Algie L. Barrett Rose; she preceded her 
identical twin Verda by 5 minutes. They looked so alike their 
mother tied a pink or blue ribbon to their wrists to tell them 
apart. Mother and twins returned to the family farm 5 miles 
outside of Weiser, ID where their dad had a veterinarian 
practice. Verna graduated from Weiser High in 1937, where 
she held first place in hurdles and high jump. The twins 
attended MiLadys Beauty School in Boise and worked at the 
Mechanafe, a local landmark. She graduated in 1939 as a 
cosmetologist and worked at the Mode Salon. She met 
Everett Merrill Wildman at a dance in Boise and they were 
later married on the same day as her twin, November 30, 
1943, in Salt Lake City. Everett and Verna returned to 
Meridian where they made their home on the Sleepy Hollow 
farm, where Everett had grown up. They lived in the one 
room schoolhouse on the property until returning to Boise 
where Everett began his life long career as a building 
contractor. They raised two sons, Robert Merrill and Larry 
Milton Wildman in the house he built in 1954, which still 
remains in the family. They were married for 66 years at the 
time Everett passed, May 13,2009. Verna was a member of 
the LDS Church and served many callings; she loved her 
church and remained active as long as she was able. She was 
also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Toast 
Mistresses, and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Verna was preceded 
in death by her parents, Willard and Algie Rose Brown, 
stepfather Harold Brown, brother Willard Rose, twin sister 
Verda Budge, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Dorothy 
Wildman. She is survived by her younger brother Denis (Win) 
Rose, her sons Robert Wildman (MJ), and Larry Wildman 
(Karen), grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie), Jessica Wildman 
Rosales (Gabriel), Ashleigh Wildman and Luke Wildman, 
step-grandchildren Matt Christensen and Travis (Bailey) 
Christensen, six great-grandchildren and two step great-
grandchildren. The family thanks the wonderful caregivers of 
Boise Health and Rehab, who helped Verna daily; and 
especially during her final hours; she loved you all so very 
much. A service for Everett and Verna will be held at Relyea 
Funeral Chapel, Boise, Monday August 16 at 11:00. Interment 
will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. Memorials requested to
