Barry Krapf's life ended suddenly at the age of 62, March 11, 2010. Both were living in Tahachapi, CA. with Blanche's daughter Linda Whetstone. Blanche and Barry were both born in Tamaqua, PA. Blanche married William F. Krapf of Tamaqua in 1942 and they had three children, William Krapf Jr., Linda Whetstone and Barry. Being a military family they lived many places over the years, Germany, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Washington. After William Krapf died overseas in 1963 Blanche relocated to Tacoma WA, where her married children were living. She met and was married for over 25 years to Marian Romig who passed away in 1994. She had many grandchildren and great- grandchildren too many to count, but she remembered them all. She was very active in her church and had many treasured friends. She had a very rich and full life. "We love you, MOM; we miss you!" Barry met Lia Barton in Tacoma and they married in 1969. They had two children, Justin Krapf and Serina Ness. Most of their 25 years of marriage together they resided in Fall City, WA. Barry was very creative, an artist, he could do anything he put his mind to. His trade was welding and after years of working in the industry he finished his career teaching Welding Technology at Bellevue Community College. He retired at a young age and completed the 35' sailboat he was building. In 1992 Lia retired and they sailed off on the boat, Barry living his 'lifelong' dream. On Saturday, August 14th at 2 PM there will be a service and celebration of 'Life' and 'Food', (Blanche loved food), at the home of Lia Pavone, 10402 Hill Terrace SW, Lakewood, WA. Please come celebrate and remember our loved ones... Published in News Tribune (Tacoma) on August 1, 2010 |
