Rice, Carmen January 12, 1920 - August 12, 2010 Carmen Rice passed away peacefully on August 12th in her home. Carmen was born Jan. 12, 1920 in San Angelo, Texas and is preceded in death by her husband, Don Rice III. She is survived by four sisters: Linda Colcord, Jane De Vivier, Mona Lee Valle, Joyce Winter and 9 nieces and nephews. Carmen began Classical Spanish and Flamenco dancing professionally at an early age in many nightclubs and theatres across the country, including the Copacabana. She danced until she was 49. She also was in several movies, including Flying Down to Rio and Carnival in Costa Rica. Carmen and Don met in the entertainment business in Chicago and were married over 40 years. Don Rice III was a comedian and they performed in shows together. Carmen was President of the Fashionettes and was very active for years, had many friends in that organization. Carmen was a board member of many charities including the Navy League, Fashionettes and City of Hope. Carmen was very loved by her family and friends and will be missed. The service will be held August 28th 2:30pm at the Little Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 1712 S. Glendale Avenue, Glendale, CA.
