| Woods, Charnelsia Charnelsia "Nan" Woods, 74, a retired developer, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully in her home Monday night, July 19, 2010, after a fierce fight with cancer the last seven months. She was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Kennett, Mo., and was a 23- year resident of Nevada. Nan owned an advertising company with her husband, Bob, in Santa Barbara, Calif. for over 20 years. In that time, Nan also became a general contractor and real estate agent. She built a number of residential properties in Santa Barbara, as well as handling real estate rentals and purchases. Retiring to Las Vegas in the late 80's, she became extremely proficient at poker and was known to play almost every night. Losing her husband, Bob in 1996 was a devastating blow to her. Longtime friend, Art Pastel came to visit and what had been a wonderful friendship blossomed into a loving relationship. Their relationship and subsequent marriage was an example of undying love, respect and admiration for each other. She was preceded in death by her father, Don Blair; mother, Evelyn Lowell; daughter, Janet Beesley; son, Wray Woods; and first husband, Robert Woods. Nan is survived by her husband, Art Pastel; and daughters, Carey Goeth, Susan Merrow and Carol Bracale. Private memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Spanish Trail Country Club, 5050 Spanish Trail Lane. Donations can be made to Opportunity Village.
