| Bjornson, Christopher Christopher Bjornson 1965-2010 In Tucson, on July 21, 2010, at the age of 45 years, Chaplain Chris Bjornson Beloved husband of Monica Bjornson passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Tucson, he was a son, of Russell and Clara Bjornson. In his younger years, he worked and volunteered at the Tucson Teen Challenge Men's Center. He was an associate of several faith based organizations and an affiliate of the Latino Coalition. The past five years Chris volunteered as a Chaplain with the RAC at Pima County Jail and Gospel Rescue Mission where he ministered to hurting individuals; a soul winner for God. For years he passionately reached out to men who were drug addicts, gang members and inmates. In 2004 he opened Out of the Ashes Re-Entry Home for men who were transitioning out of prison and jail. Chris fulfilled his passion by reaching, restoring and rebuilding lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ. His vision, purpose, courage will be carried on through the thousands of lives he touched while serving the Lord for the past 24 years. Chris will be greatly missed by his spouse, Monica, his children, Diane, Deborah, Chris Jr.; his mother, Clara Flores Bjornson and father, Russ Bjornson; his brother, Craig Bjornson; his sister, Carey Bjornson; his nephews, Ezra and Elijah Bjornson as well as friends and family. Funeral Service 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Flowing Wells Assembly of God, 3198 N. Flowing Wells Road will be officiated by his Pastors Dave Ferrari, Steven Collins and Executive Chaplain Steve Martinez. Visitation 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at church prior to service.
