McKay, Earl
Earl McKay, 75, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 in Yuma.
He was born February 6, 1935 in Somerton, Arizona.
Earl served with the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a
member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the Rod
& Gun Club of Yuma. He leveled land and farmed in Dome
Valley for Howard Moore. He then worked for and retired
from the Tanner Company.
Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at the White
Mountains in his cabin in the summer and driving around
looking at the beautiful Elk.
Earl is survived by his wife, Carol McKay; daughters, Diane
Williams, Donna (Steve) Kohmetscher, and Ronda (Tony)
Burrell son, Ronnie (La Honda) McKay; brothers, Gary and
Bobby McKay; 13 grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Wilford
"Pete" McKay; brothers, Clarence "Bud", Coy "Ham", Wayne,
Merle "Twin", Floyd "Tink" and Troy McKay.
Funeral services will be held at Johnson Mortuary Chapel on
Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at
Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Jerry
Rowell.
Pallbearers will be Casey and Jason Hollis, Clint McKay, Bryan
and Kevin Gooding and Wesley Belote.
Honorary pallbeareres are Tony Burrell, Gary McKay, Steve
Kohmetscher, Brent McKay, Russ Seh, Kenneth Thompson,
Kyle and Travis Hollis, Ronnie McKay, Bobby McKay, W.H.
Kelsey, Bob Meeks, Don Fisher, Ross Heinbaugh, and Bobby
Chavez.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice
Compassus or the American Cancer Society .
