Basinet, David J.

of Scottsdale, AZ died at age 82 of lung cancer. He was born in
San Francisco, CA to Lucy Donahue and George J. Basinet. He
graduated from St. Joseph High School in Alameda, CA then
served in the U.S. Navy. He later attended the University of San
Francisco after which he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, retiring
as a fighter pilot after 26 years of military service. Lt. Col.
Basinet received the Distinguished Flying Cross, The Bronze
Star and the Air Medal with 8 Oak Leaf Clusters. He married
Ruth Card in 1953 and is survived by their daughters Lynne
Basinet, Joy Alford, Diane Basinet, Ann (Rod) Schiffbauer,
Theresa (Randy) Morris, Donna (Keith) Tillery, Jana Basinet, 12
grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 3 siblings, Jackie
Burcham, George Basinet and Lucy Fossen. He was
predeceased by his parents and three siblings, Dolores
O'Malley, Patricia Prentiss and Richard Basinet. Visitation will be
held on Tuesday, June 29th from 6:00 ~ 8:00 PM, with a Rosary
Service at 7:00 PM, at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, 8555
E. Pinnacle Peak Rd., Scottsdale. A Funeral Mass will be held on
Wednesday, June 30th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic
Community, 10815 N. 84th St., Scottsdale followed by military
honors at Paradise Memorial Gardens.
