Brentzel, Eugene K. January 8, 1940 to July 3, 2010 Eugene K. Brentzel, 70, passed away peacefully on July 3rd with his family by his side after a difficult battle with throat and tongue cancer. Eugene was born in Irwin, PA and graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Engineering in 1962. He married Joan Carol Siggia in 1963, and together they had three children. Eugene worked as an engineer for much of his life, and lived with his family in Minneapolis, MN for 16 years before moving to the San Diego area in 1981, where he resided until his death. He had a second career as a tax preparer, and was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan, brothers Jim and David Brentzel, children Sue Hoffman, Meg Nowicki and Jay Brentzel, and 4 granddaughters. His family would like to thanks the staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and at the San Diego Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
