Kinkaid, Robert Robert "Fuzzy" Kinkaid 72, passed away on May 31, 2010. Born January 28, 1938 in San Jose and raised in Santa Clara, Robert attended Santa Clara High School (Class of 1956). As a teenager, he danced at the Wutzit Club Youth Center in Santa Clara. After graduation from Ponce Beauty College he was a hair stylist, an instructor and a Platform Artist. He served his loyal clientele from up and down the Peninsula and the East Bay for fifty years. Robert was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was a life member of the Harley Owner's Group (HOG) and the Sierra Road Riders Association (SRRA). In addition to racing, and participating in many rides, he rode the USA Four Corners Tour and made a solo ride from the Bay Area to Alaska. His other hobbies and interests were cars, gardening, and he enjoyed an ardent love of the outdoors. Robert loved Swing Dancing, which he shared with his wife Michelle. He closely assisted with her Swing Dance business and co-created the "Magic" Swing Dance events. He was a successful dance competitor, placing third in the Masters' Division of the US Open Swing Dance Championships in 1993 and winning the Rebels Hubby/Wife Couples competition in 1991. Robert was a master storyteller and jokester; the stories of elaborate practical jokes he and his friends engineered and played on each other were legendary. He could make anyone feel comfortable. Robert and Michelle recently celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary among their dance friends in the dance club where they first met. He is survived by his loving wife Michelle, daughters Wendy, Alysia and Sarah, sons Robert and Keith, his beloved dog Rascal, and a large, loving extended family and friends. Robert Kinkaid was loved by many people and will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. Memorial service to be announced later. Published in San Francisco Chronicle on June 6, 2010
