Champley, Richard Richard "Dick" Champley Resident of San Carlos 2/03/1922 ~ 5/30/2010 Born in Chicago, Dick pursued his love of art at The Chicago Art Institute. His second love was voice, and when offered an opportunity to travel with a show, he took the chance. Twenty years of singing with the Chicago Opera, theatre, night clubs, and television proved very successful. Moving to San Carlos in 1962, Dick worked for Macy's for the next 27 years. He then returned to his first love, painting. He was an award winning portrait artist, and active member of the San Carlos Fine Arts Group. Dick was as kind and generous as he was talented. More than his love of art and music, Dick shared his heart with his life partner of sixty years, Tom Larsen. He will be missed deeply by his family, and all who were fortunate to have known him.
