Carr, Allen Lane

Lane was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 17, 1928. He grew
up on Bothell, WA and graduated from Bothell High School. Lane
attended Whitman College in Walla Walla where he received his
undergraduate degree in Political Science. He later graduated
from the University Of Washington School Of Law earning his Juris
Doctorate. He met and married his beloved wife of 58 years,
Joyce, on April 5, 1952. Lane and Joyce are long time residents of
Edmonds, Washington. Lane practiced law for over 50 years and
enjoyed it deeply. Teaching was also a passion - he taught
business law at the University of Washington business school for
over 23 years. Lane was stationed in Casablanca serving in the Air
force during the Korean War. He was an avid skier, poker player,
and chess player, and taught two of his grandchildren how to play
chess. Lane was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Keeney
and father William Elmo Carr; his brother, William Carr, and sister,
Dixie Greenbaum. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his four
daughters: Claudia, Lesli (Jim), Diane, and Allyson (Baron); his four
grandchildren: Nicole, Jerak, Jack, and Nora; and his brother,
Mark and his children, and sister, Donna and her children. He is
survived by his wife, Joyce; his four daughters: Claudia, Lesli (Jim),
Diane, and Allyson (Baron); his four grandchildren: Nicole, Jerak,
Jack, and Nora; and his brother, Mark and his children, and sister,
Donna and her children. In lieu of flowers, you may make
donations to Seattle Children's Hospital. Lane passed away on
June 2, 2010 due to complications from gall bladder surgery. He
will be dearly missed by all. We love you Lane / Dad.
